The Spring/Summer 2011 issue of Caltech's E&S magazine has tongues wagging across campus with an arresting cover featuring an eclectic mix of home and garden items and a special section depicting Caltech researchers as you've never seen them before.
The innovative alternative energy research underway in laboratories across campus is highlighted in the "Power Players" section, where Caltech scientists John Dabiri, Robert Grubbs, Frances Arnold, Nate Lewis, Harry Gray, Harry Atwater, Sossina Haile, Mani Chandy, and Steven Low create their own energy in a series of imaginative photographs that show the enthusiasm they bring to their work.
E&S also takes a look at how the renovation of the Linde + Robinson building brings to light Caltech's commitment to sustainability both inside and outside the laboratory. With stories on topics ranging from the creation of new energy-harnessing processes and materials to our student Solar Decathlon team and the rapidly growing number of LEED-certified buildings on campus, the latest E&S offers an unexpected glimpse of the myriad ways Caltech is leading sustainable energy science and paving the way toward new technology discoveries and application.
