The Graduate Student-Faculty Colloquium (SFC) is a biannual, day-long conference designed to facilitate dialogue between graduate students and faculty regarding the graduate student experience at Caltech and to address the present concerns of the campus community as a whole. This year's event is being organized by the Graduate Student Council (GSC) and the Graduate Studies Office in collaboration with the CTLO, the Caltech Student Health Center & Student Counseling Center, and other campus groups. The GSC also acknowledges generous support from Moore-Hufstedler Fund (MHF) for this year's event.

Expected programming highlights for the upcoming 2018 SFC include a keynote speech by Caltech President Thomas Rosenbaum, a student-faculty discussion panel featuring live audience polling via the Poll Everywhere service, and new bystander training modules intended to help students and faculty combat instances of harassment and discrimination they observe in their daily lives.

The 2018 SFC will take place on Friday, February 23rd, 2018. Programming will begin Friday morning at 8:00am with coffee and end with an ice cream social at 3:15pm. Students and faculty are encouraged to register and attend as much of the event as they can, even if schedules require a late arrival or early departure from the event.

Morning programming (9am-12pm) will take place within Caltech's Beckman Auditorium. Following lunch, afternoon breakout sessions (1-3pm) will occur in a variety of locations across campus.

We encourage all graduate students and faculty to attend to maximize the sharing of information and the diversity of opinions shared in productive discussion throughout the day.
