William Bing, Conductor
John Daversa, Guest Composer and Trumpet Artist
Paul Asimow, Guest Conductor

The program for this concert will include a movement from "The Lord of the Rings" conducted by Dr. Paul Asimow, and in a nod to technology, a work entitled "Concerto for Cellphone and Band." This humorous new composition will give the audience a lot of laughs as certain familiar cellphone ring tones become part of the music.

John Daversa is one of the leading jazz composers in Los Angeles. He has his own big band and small group. In addition to conducting and playing the trumpet, he will also play the EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument).

A free reception for all will follow the concert.

The same program will be presented on Friday evening.
