Caltech-Occidental Concert Band

The Caltech-Occidental Symphony presents a free concert featuring guest conductor Sharon Lavery, Co-Conductor of the USC Thornton Wind Ensemble, as well as the Blair High School Concert Band directed by Michael Birnbryer.
Music selections include: "The Star Spangled Banner" music by John Stafford Smith, arranged by Luigi Zanilelli; "Danzon No. 2" by Arturo Marquez; "Variations on America" by Charles Ives; "March" from Symphonic Metamorphosis, by Paul Hindemith; "Lux Aurumque" by Eric Whitacre; and "O Magnum Mysterium" by Morten Lauridsen, arranged by H. Robert Reynolds.
The band will also perform at Occidental College in Thorne Hall on Sunday, November 23rd at 3:30 p.m. The Sunday program will be shared with the Loma Linda Academy Wind Symphony, directed by Giovanni Santos.
Both concerts are free, with no tickets or reservations required, but early arrival is recommended.
