Caltech Women's Club Hiking and Walking Group Outing
Join us for an activity that's both enjoyable and healthy. On the third Thursday of each month, we'll hike together along some lovely trails close to Pasadena, and a few a bit further away. Details about each hike, including where to meet, will be sent by email and posted on the website. There's no need to book or RSVP, just turn up at 9:00 am at the meeting place and bring a hat, some water and a snack.
Our next hike will be on Thursday April 28 when we will hike in a totally different area, the beautiful Santa Susanna mountains that separate the San Fernando valley from the Simi valley. The sandstone rocks and caves make a nice change from the granite of the San Gabriels. We'll hike up a fire road to the highest point, Rocky Peak, from which there will be excellent 360 deg views. It's gently uphill, but not too strenuous, and the wide path is in good condition. Flowers should be abundant; it's one of my favorite areas. Take the 210 west and the 118 west all the way to an exit road called Rocky Peak. There's parking on either side of the bridge.
As it's a 20 minute drive from Pasadena, let's meet at 9:30 am. To car pool (which would be best), email [email protected] or phone 626 564 9107. Dogs welcome. Bring a hat, water and snack. We'll be back by noon.
