The Hilbert scheme is a crucial object in the study of moduli spaces, and the simplest example is the Hilbert scheme of points in affine space. Nevertheless, this space is extremely complicated, and much about it remains unknown. I will discuss my current work-in-progress computing the integral homology of this space.
