CFAM Discussion: Why Teaching Evaluations Don't Accurately Measure Student Learning

CFAM holds a quarterly Discussion Group where CFAM community members discuss emerging topics in the field of higher education to develop our teaching knowledge and skills for our future positions as educators in academia, industry, and beyond.

This Fall's discussion will center around the topic of teaching evaluations as discussed in "The Science of Learning" by Edward Watson and Bradley Busch. We'll examine a study exploring the research question: "Does student evaluation of a teacher bear any relation to how good that teacher actually is?" The main findings may surprise you.
