CFT entropy at large spin
Nathan Benjamin, University of Southern California,

I will discuss "semi-universal" properties of d-dimensional CFT partition functions in the limit as the chemical potential goes to 1. Equivalently these are semi-universal results for the entropy of local operators at high-spin (with twist potentially large, but parametrically less than the spin). I will show the density states at large spin is determined up to a theory-dependent function of a ratio of twist and spin (hence "semi-universal"). I will also relate these results to known bounds on CFT operators coming from ANEC, that are stronger than unitarity bounds. Based on arXiv:2512.00158.

The talk is in 469 Lauritsen.
