Math Teaching Seminar
Linde Hall 359
Conversations About Math Teaching
Tynan Ochse,
Curriculum Director,
Art of Problem Solving,
At Art of Problem Solving, our pedagogy centers around three main goals: students do the "heavy lifting," our teachers model good problem-solving habits, and our lesson content reflects the curriculum we wish we had as kids. In this session, we will examine how these principles play out in the classroom, and what they reveal about our curriculum design process. We will also discuss to what extent such practices can be adopted in undergraduate coursework and consider how even the most abstract or content-heavy courses can invite genuine student input and engagement
