Dr. Nelly Khidekel is Executive Director for Foundation Relations at Caltech. She brings deep insight into how funding decisions are made, what kinds of research projects resonate with donors, and how Caltech connects researchers with philanthropic and foundation opportunities. In this lunchtime talk, Dr. Khidekel will share how postdocs can better position themselves to tap into foundation and philanthropic funding. She will discuss what resonates with donors, how funding trends are evolving, and what internal Caltech resources are available to support early-career researchers. She will also share real examples of successful foundation-funded projects.
