Arithmetic Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture and arithmetic theta lifts

I will explain what the arithmetic Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture is and how it generalizes the classical Gross--Zagier formula. I will also explain how to use arithmetic theta lifts to tackle some endoscopic cases of it.
