OcTech X Tempo: Courage to Care

OcTech, Caltech's choral octet, has teamed up with Dr. Lucy Jones and TEMPO to bring you Courage To Care: a concert for processing climate angst in the face of historic fires. This show uses music and discussion to work to transform our fear and grief about climate change into anger and hope - emotions we can do something with. Come build community with us!

OcTech is Caltech's choral octet. Comprising Caltech graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and professional scientists, the ensemble has earned a reputation for tackling technically demanding eight-part repertoire with both precision and expressive depth. Their performances — whether on campus, at Pasadena's Parson's Nose Theater, or in benefit concerts for global causes — have demonstrated the power of music to unite intellect, emotion, and action. TEMPO, an initiative of the Dr. Lucy Jones Center for Science and Society, bridges climate science, social science, and music to reshape the "emotional climate" around climate change.
