Talk: The Road to Quantum Advantage

Abstract: Quantum computing has seen rapid progress in recent years across hardware, algorithms, and fault-tolerant architectures. In this talk, I will review these advances and assess how close we are to achieving quantum advantage in practical applications.

Bio: John Preskill is a theoretical physicist and professor at Caltech, known for his pioneering contributions to quantum information science. His work spans quantum computation, quantum error correction, and the foundations of quantum theory. He is the founding director of Caltech's Institute for Quantum Information and Matter and has played a central role in shaping the field of quantum computing.

Everyone is welcome: minimal technical background is required. Come learn and ask questions. And yes, snacks will be provided.
