Notice of Commercial Filming Activity, June 18, 20, 21

June 19, 2025

To: The Campus Community
From: The Office of Communications and External Relations

On Friday, June 20 there will be a large film crew working at multiple locations across campus for a television show. The crew will have access to San Pasqual Walk, Bechtel Mall, Beckman Mall, Caltech Hall Pond and inside Noyes Lecture Hall and Ramo Auditorium. There was a very small crew present today, June 18, prepping certain locations, and a small crew will return on June 21 to clean up all remaining equipment. No crews will be present on campus on June 19.

Caltech's Office of Communications and External Relations (OCER) has oversight of the project and has worked in advance with representatives from the divisions, Caltech Facilities, and Caltech Security leaders to pre-approve the crews access and use of all filming areas. Please note cast and crew are not permitted inside any campus buildings and will be providing their own restrooms.

In areas where they are filming, pedestrian traffic may be intermittently paused while cameras are rolling but should be quickly resumed.

Please note:

  • Two OCER staff members will be on-site during the entirety of this filming activity and our office is working in coordination with Caltech Security, who will assign officers for this activity.
  • Large production vehicles will be parked on S. Wilson, on Bechtel Mall, and on San Pasqual. There will be generators positioned around campus.
  • Cast and crew are not permitted access inside any campus buildings, except for filming purposes, and will be provided their own restroom trailers. Any instances of crew members accessing campus building interiors should be reported to [email protected].

While we will work to minimize the impact of the production on the campus community, please be advised that there will be activity and noise at the filming location and some areas may not be accessible at some points during the day. Questions or concerns can be directed to Caltech's Office of Communications and External Relations: [email protected]
